Style Star | 2012 Golden Globe Top Picks

Awards season is in full swing so for a fashion and beauty junkie like me, I eat up the red carpet moments. With all of the books, glossies, and DVDs (hello Rachel Zoe) that I've read over the years, I know that a LOT goes into selecting a red carpet look. It's not just about a pretty dress: it takes weeks of preparation (skin, nails, hair, diet prep, going over dress options with your stylist/team, fittings, picking shoes, jewelry, and makeup to complete the look, etc.).

For image conscious celebrities, wearing a look that lands on Best Dressed Lists is a major coup; a great moment today could lead to a campaign/endorsement later down the road. These nights are meant for stars to break out the big guns!

My Top 3 at the 2012 Golden Globes: Paula Patton,  Jessica Alba, and Charlize Theron.

This color pops brilliantly against Patton's skin.

 Alba is positively radiant n lilac after baby.

Theron's blush Dior is sexy and a little different from the rest.

There were other beauties that I loved but these were my personal standouts.  Also: blush/cream gowns were a major trend overall, so we should see that reflected in stores in the next few months.

1 last thing: I'm still not sure how I feel about Zooey Deschanel's Prada gown.

The dress is pretty, but I'm unsure if it's the necklace, her hair, or what, but something was off for me. I know she's the cute, quirky girl (one of the reasons I'm a fan) but I don't know if it worked for the Globes. Do we love it? Head over to KP Fusion's Facebook page to answer our poll.
