This weekend kicks off the Coachella music festival and for those making the trek to the Indio, CA desert, you’re probably wondering: what to pack??? Set over two weekends, the temperatures are expected to go anywhere from 69 – 85 degrees, so light fair is in order. While there is a small possibility for rain, the desert is typically dry so in addition to staying hydrated, you want to take lightweight, breathable fabrics with you. On the flip side, you don’t want to be that girl that’s overpacked (seriously, it’s an outdoor festival, not a week in Paris), so pack pieces that can easily be mixed and matched. There’s nothing wrong with variety (who doesn’t want to look cute) but be strategic with your efforts.
Here’s a guide of budget friendly pieces under $100 to help you out!
Dress: Sleeveless and floral. You can never go wrong with this.
Shorts: Denim, preferably in the looser boyfriend cut (most flattering for thicker thighs).
Beige Blazer: On cooler days/nights, you can pair with your frock or dress up the shorts.
Tops: Graphic Tee, Graphic Tank, and white sleeveless blouse. Wear alone with shorts or mix with blazer as well.
Handbag: Crossbody style. Fun color, only holds essentials, and easy to keep up with (pick pocketers still exist).
Shoes: Flat sandals, a wedge (in the event you’re VIP/traveling with a golf-cart so limited walking), and a pair of classic converse (in the event it rains and you have to walk in mud).
Accessories: Keep it simple but have fun! Pack a watch, 2 pairs of earrings (one statement, one classic), 2 pairs of sunnies (mix it up), bangle bracelets, and 2 hats (fedora or floppy beach style).
You may also want to bring along an umbrella, blanket & sunscreen and most importantly, a camera!
Will you be traveling in style when you head to Coachella?
I thought the billowy sleeves on this blouse were so much fun, and once I realized that I only had a polka-dot tee in my wardrobe (stripes + florals had taken over the last few years), I knew it had to go home with me.
I’ve been wanting a velvet midi skirt for a while, so when I stumbled upon this perfect one from Francesca’s a few weeks back, I got it in not one but TWO colors.
While I don’t own as many as I’d like, I’ve always felt that graphic tees are closet staples that everyone should have. They instantly give you a cool girl vibe, are quite versatile, and are just plain fun.
I’m mostly shopping for Fall, so I’m wanting a more streamlined, edgier look, and I’m only going to get things within that muted, neutral color palette (plus grey and maybe olive).
All these looks are great and combo together really well!

Reva
Thank you! When I put them together I wanted them to be fun individually but work well together. Glad you like 🙂
