Fashion Life | Styling at The Seen | KP FUSION
During the summer I got the chance to do my first styling segment at the grand opening of a boutique/lounge hybrid in Downtown Memphis called The Seen. One of the owners, Kim Brown (a local stylist and owner of Urban Chocolate, an online vintage & accessories store) invited me to come out for one of the styling segments that night and I was SUPER excited. I was nervous, because while I’ve done a few things at work and here and there for the blog, I’d never really created a full look based on what *I* liked. Totally different ballgame. I called some of the coolest, prettiest girls I know (Jenice, Joanna, and Catherine) and they agreed to play dress-up with me and let me do their makeup as well. Because Kim carries vintage & thrifted clothing and the trend is hot right now, I decided to do a pull with her. Outside of a pair of earrings and some blue suede shoes, all clothing was pulled from her store. I also took a few behind the scenes shots as well (nothing like models off duty!) Catherine was busy that night. She also modeled in another segment that night. Dani P. (chambray shirt, black skirt) and her girls for the night. I love playing with patterns, prints and textures, so each girl had their own look for the night with a a cohesive element tying them together. Fashion is meant to be fun and should never be taken too seriously. I had a blast and hope I get to do it again soon!
