Last week I was invited to speak about working as a stylist at Camp SLAM!, a performing arts camp held by Outloud Artistry, Inc. It was such a pleasure meeting with the kid (age 10-18) and talking to them about styling; I covered how I got started, books that are MUST-HAVES, what to think about when they start working on a portfolio, and fun things they can do now as they are figuring out their passion. I even showed them how to style one dress 2 different ways by just changing out their shoes & accessories. My dear friend KStar came to take pictures (thank you!) and she winded up giving a few tips as well. I was super nervous, but the kids and counselors seemed receptive and asked me questions not only on styling, but modeling, blogging, and more.
