Product Review | U R Curly Soya Shampoo, Quinoa Conditioner + Tight Curl Enhancer | KP FUSION
After working on a photoshoot a few months ago and having beauty and hair talk with our model, she gifted me a few products from the U R Curly’s line: the Soya Shampoo ($8.99), Quinoa Conditioner ($8.99), and the Tight Curl Enhancer ($9.99). Based here in Memphis, TN, U R Curly launched in 2012 and was created specifically for curly-haired women. It’s alcohol, paraben, and sulfate free, contains no dyes, and the main ingredient is Abyssinian Oil, a natural oil that moisturizes and is lightweight, but doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. HairStory First let me say, I have no clue what my curl pattern is. I just know it’s curly. Since growing out my relaxer over the last 2 years, I’ve pretty much used the same products daily (aside from adding 100% raw shea butter which is the BOMB), and typically flat iron my hair. I’ve done my own hair since I was 14 and love experimenting with it, so it wasn’t that I was running from the “creamy crack”; outside of 2 times when I KNEW I left my relaxer in too long, I never had issues with it. I pretty much grew my relaxer out bc of boredom. I have thick, coarse hair, but almost all of the the natural hair products I’ve tried are way too heavy for my hair. They moisturized but left a weird film, so whenever i wanted to wear my hair curly, I had to wash it everyday. Shea butter is a fantastic moisturizer but I wanted a curl enhancing shampoo + conditioner as well, so when she gifted me the products, I was ecstatic to test them. The Product All of the products have a thick consistency, almost like honey. The shampoo contains soy protein, tea tree oil, echinacea, and aloe, so it to soothes + tingles your scalp. The conditioner has quinoa protein, aloe, and lavender to help with breakage. With both products, you massage and leave in hair for at least 2 minutes, rinse, and repeat as needed. The tight curl enhancer has glycerin, soy protein, aloe and honey and helps with frizz while helping with curl memory, and minimizing breakage. Start off with a about a quarter size amount for your entire head and add more as needed. The Verdict I absolutely LOVE this line! You don’t have to use a ton of product to coat your hair, and I love how my scalp tingles after it’s washed (and the tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic so your scalp is clean but not stripped). Bc of the shampoo and conditioner’s formula, it automatically plays up your natural pattern- you could skip the curl enhancer if you’re short on time or just want to add your usual moisturizer. It’s THAT good. Plus, I love that it’s AFFORDABLE. Even if I hadn’t been gifted the product, I would have tried it. Youre’ talking $30 bucks for a 3-part system opposed to a $40 curl enhancer that may not even work for your hair type. It’s a quality product at a great price and I definitely say if you have curly hair (loose, tightly-coiled, whatever), definitely test this out at some point.
