Prepping Your Wardrobe for Fall | Part 1-The Style Board | KP FUSION
Can you believe that it’s September?! It seems just yesterday we were counting down for Summer break, and now the first day of Autumn is only 22 days away. I know a lot of people are prepping for NYFW, and while I will be tuned in to see what the new trends will be and what everyone is wearing, I’m actually more excited to prep my wardrobe for Fall. I love, love, love cooler weather. When the leaves start to change and a crispness comes in the air, I get excited. I flourish in all of the layers we can wear, and I live for the darker shades of gray, so I’m ready to clear out my summer pieces to make room for more seasonal pieces. (Sidenote: my coworker thinks I’m a little insane bc last week I told her I felt off because I couldn’t express myself in scarves + chunky knits yet (its been in the 90s) but that’s how I was feeling. I got issues, I know). I’ve been tempted to just rip everything out, but I’m all about building a better wardrobe so I figured I’d work on a style board to determine the look(s) I want to have before I do that; the colors, fabrics and silhouttes that I think with work well together as well as the accessories I need to pick up as well. Per usual, Pinterest has been a big help for me, so I decided to treat this a little like a photoshoot + create a mood/style board: images via + via Anybody else notice a pattern? Blush + muted tones, mustard, leopard, leather accents (booties!) and black are the shades I’m gravitating towards, in chunky knits, slim pants, + flouncy skirts (which I don’t wear a lot ), and paired with simple makeup save a strong bordeaux lip. I also want to add in more scarves + a new swing or peacoat, although, I’ll be happy with a cognac or black moto jacket bc it will pair well with all of the textures and soft shades. So the look is slightly minimalistic, but still modern + sweet. This will make going into the season so much simpler! Now that I have an idea about the look I want, I’ll have to take a weekend out to clear out my closet to assess what pieces I already have. Stay tuned for the 2nd part and I’ll have some easy tips for you if you plan on doing the same. How do you plan your wardrobe for Fall?
