Stepping Outside of Your (Creative) Comfort Zone | KP FUSION
It’s both exciting and challenging because there’s no guarantee that you will actually be good at everything you try (hello fashion design), but the fact that you’re actually trying to figure it out (instead of just thinking about it) makes it all totally worth it. Yesterday I worked on a shoot as a both a stylist and mua with Aviana, a model that I’ve previously styled. SHE was the one that was shooting, because she too is exploring who she is as a creative. I’m going through that process as well so I could very much relate. We had so much fun working together, and I enjoyed watching her direct and go after the looks that she wanted from her model. She owned her creativity, and it was awesome. You see, we now live in a time where if you have an idea, you no longer have to wait for someone to approve of it in order for it to get done. You find people that share similar interests, talk, plan and execute that ish. It may come out terribly, but it may be the next best thing since sliced bread. You’re creating, and THAT’S what matters. I had my ideas about certain things so I created this blog to share them. I’ve built up my own platform so that any time I want to try something, I find fellow creatives that can help me do it while having fun along the way. I may shoot it, get someone else to shoot it, or I may do it all. If needed, I can even sit back and just direct it but allow someone else to express their creative vision of it. I’ve gotten out of my own way and limitations and am having the time of my life. I still have to balance it with a 9-5, but my goal is that one day, I will be able to live solely off of creative collaborations, with friends, brands, etc. This blog will continue to evolve to document these endeavors, so I hope you guys enjoy the new content that will be rolling in. I hope that they will inspire you to to get out of your comfort zone and to start creating the stories and visuals that YOU want to create, whether it’s for your own site or for larger publications. The point of this post is, don’t limit yourselves. There’s so much that you can do! Friday Faves | Black Moto Boots Snapshots | Brandi
