Beauty Bag Update with Glossier

I have a minor obsession with buying concealers + lip products, so recently I picked up the Balm Dotcom and the Stretch Concealer from Glossier. I tested out their Milky Jelly Cleanser a few months ago and was pretty pleased with the results, so when the Stretch Concealer was released, I added it to my must-try list.

If you’re familiar with Glossier, you know that the mission of the brand is to give you products that enhance moreso than “fix”; they don’t necessarily promote the whole no makeup makeup look, but they do believe in making skin look its best without looking cakey. All of their products  are designed to promote dewy, glowy, healthy-looking skin.

The concealer ($18) is unlike any other concealer I’ve ever used. It’s in a pot, but it becomes liquidy, almost like foundation when it’s touched. It’s made with an elastic micro wax, so it moves with your skin to keep the layers light, but it does provide sheer to medium coverage. I personally like to apply it with a brush because I need heavier coverage due to dark circles, but it’s really, really creamy, so I can buff it out with a beauty blender once it’s placed. I purchased it in Dark (there are 5 shades), which is actually more of a light tan shade, so I can use this to highlight under the eye, but I would need to go a shade darker if I wanted to use it alone anywhere else on my face.

The Balm Dotcom ($12) was an instant cult classic when it was released. It’s a long-lasting emoliant skin salve, so you can use it pretty much anywhere you need a little more hydration. It’s like a much fancier petrolium jelly. I ordered Rose, one of the flavored versions; it has a sliiiight tint + a subtle floral scent but it won’t stain anything or compete with your perfume. You can use it anywhere but I prefer to use it on my lips. It is a thick, moisturizing salve so a little goes a long way. This will be a lifesaver come Winter.
