Pretty much every store is in Sale mode right now so that they can make room for Fall arrivals, so now’s a really good time to do some seasonal shopping. Unless you’re a trend junkie, you can find some great pieces that you can wear for a few more seasons, so if you have some time, make a list of transitional pieces (light weight sweaters, loafers, dresses, tanks, etc.) that you can pick up and get to shopping.
It’s also a good time to shop designer brands. Shopbop is having a 3-day “Sale on Sale” event today through Thursday 8/24, so if you liked the Dolce Vita booties I talked about getting in this post, check out their sale section and save an extra 20% off select styles with code TREAT20.
It doesn’t start to get really cool here until mid-September, and even then, it’s moreso at night, so it’s all about lightweight layering. With dresses like these, a gauzy cardigan or duster is always kept in the car just in case it gets chilly at night.
Rag & Bone Elodie Dress, $357
Ankle booties are a must if you do a lot of running around, preferably with a chunkier heel so that they’re more comfortable. These go well with denim, slim pants and skirts, and even some maxi dresses.
Free People Daybreak Sweater, $32.40
I love a loose knit sweater. They breathe fairly well even when it’s warm, and they go with just about everything.
J.O.A. Lace Mix Top, $49
Tops like this are perfect for when you’re tired of wearing basic shells. The detail adds a little more interest to your style, and you can top with a sleek leather jacket at night for a more edgier look.
Band tees will always be cool, and can be worn with skinny denim, leather leggings, even little skirts (maybe corduroy?). If you need to dress it up, just throw on a black fitted blazer and heels.
A look that I love to see is a pair of cut off shorts, simple top and a long patterned kimono. Doesn’t matter it they’re worn with flats, booties, or a caged heel (my fave) it’s a look that anyone can pull off.
d.RA Venice Tunic, $41.40
On weekends, you can swap out your jogging pants for this tunic with leggings and/or flat heeled boots (depending on where it hits you).
Wear these babies with silk camisoles, thin tees, and grandpa cardigans. Dolce Vita Cybil Suede Mules, $80
Swap out basic flats for this on-trend loafer style. Will look especially smart with a cropped flare denim and simple white tee.
They have a ton of stuff on sale, so click here to shop their entire Sale section. And for the love of god, don’t be like me and forget to put the code in before checking out!!! During their last sale I didn’t realize until I got my shipping notification that I’d forgotten to include it so maybe put it in first, lol?
