Summer has officially left the building so now… what are we going to wear? I’ve found some specialty pieces for sure (like this floral mini dress and these booties) but I need to stock up on every day stylish essentials. I don’t wear a uniform per se, but I do have certain pieces that I grab on days that I have shoots. Plus, I never know who I may run into when I’m out and about, so looking polished is a must.
It’s time to retire a few pieces in my closet, so I’ve rounded up a list of essentials that I need this season. The cool thing about this list is that ANYBODY can wear these pieces, and all are under $100.
I have a leather moto jacket and would love to add a suede version to the mix.
A slightly relaxed button down to wear under a blazer would be great for coffee chats and meetings with potential clients.
These are slightly more distressed than what I normally wear but I like it.
Now that I have weekends off, I plan to do more exploring downtown + need a small crossbody bag. This color is gorgeous.
I’ve yet to meet a striped tee that I didn’t like. The boatneck version would be cute with a neck scarf.
It’s black and it has a hoodie. Enough said.
Banana’s merino wool cardigans look great with denim and layered over patterned dresses.
Last Fall I lived in boyfriend tees; this year I want some long sleeve tees that are still comfy but a little more streamlined.
Cable-knit cardigans are quintessential pieces for Fall, and this color-blocked version has a more streetstyle feel.
The perfect ankle bootie that can be worn with dresses and jeans (and won’t kill your feet on busy shoot days).
While I’m short, I never thought I’d still need a pair of cropped skinny jeans til I got mules that come up higher in the front. Short legs need clean lines.
Comfy, loose knit sweaters like this are fun to wear with maxi skirts and to layer over dresses in a style pinch.
Last Fall I carried a cognac bag every day, but this season I want something in black.
I wear classic hoop earrings almost every day, and these are a nice change.
