Hey peeps! If you’re in or near Memphis, I will be teaching my next blogging workshop, A Creative Social: Blog Photography Workshop on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 12:30pm-3:30pm.
We’re fresh into the new year, and I know that people will be looking to up the ante with their blogs (and particularly their visuals) so I wanted to kick things off with my workshop focused on photography specifically for bloggers, creatives + small brands. 2017 allowed me work with a ton of brands (including Essence, Redbook Mag, WREG, Tanger Outlets, Lane Bryant, Shopbop, and Mass Mutual) thanks to my blog + Instagram, and I have a few freelance photography clients I work with regularly, so I wanted to share what I’ve learned over the years. Why? Based on feedback + my own observance, bloggers tend to approach their visuals from a different perspective, so I wanted to teach tips + tricks to help those that want to take better images for their site or products, but aren’t sure how.
During A Creative Social we will cover:
- How to Determine Your Brand Aesthetic (your vibe attracts your tribe)
- The Top Photo Styles to Produce (it’s about more than a #selfie)
- How to Keep Your Social Media Feed Cohesive but Diverse (lifestyle is where it’s at)
- Photography Hacks for Props + Backdrops, Lighting + Editing (brand your style)
This is an interactive workshop (workbook included), so bring your phone, camera and a few small props with you. Make sure you also have space on your phone so that you can download a few of the Editing Apps that we’ll discuss.
Tickets are $45. The workshop will be from 12:30pm-3:30pm at The Lab by Memphis Fashion Design Network (64 Flicker Street Memphis, TN 38104). Only a few spots will be available, as this will be a very hands-on workshop, allowing for Q&A with attendees. Light refreshments will be served.
If content is king, photography is queen. You must, must, must have great photos to support your written content and engage your audience, but that doesn’t mean you have to go broke buying equipment to do so! Knowing how to tell your story with creative, visual content that’s tailor-made for you will help to quickly gain your targeted audience’s trust and AUTHENTIC engagement so that you can build community, grow, and ultimately monetize your blog and/or sell your products.
