Dressing Down Your Blazer

Black Velvet Tuxedo Blazer

Blazers are (or should be) a wardrobe staple for everyone. You can make them work with just about everything (even a formal gown), and one of my favorite ways to do so is (slightly) dressed down with your favorite denim.

I picked up this Dex/Black Tape Velour Tuxedo Blazer a few months back from local boutique Southern Muse. It’s Velour but looks like velvet, slightly fitted, and the sleeves are ruched, so I don’t have to worry about having to bunch them up (which is a problem I constant run into).

I love seeing more refined pieces with distrssed denim, though, so I paired mine with a simple white tee, distressed skinnies from Old Navy, and these fun floral heels that I found at Target (how cute are they?).

The slightly longer length is nice as well, so if I wanted to wear it with a pair of leggings + booties, it would  work.

How many blazers do you own?
