I love a good neutral eyeshadow palette as much as everyone else, but sometimes, you need something that can give you a little extra pop. In May, Tarte expanded their Maneater Collection to include the Confessions of a Maneater Eye & Cheek Palette, a full-face palette featuring 6 clay-infused shadows plus blush & highlighter designed to enhance your natural beauty. As part of Ulta’s UB Collective, I was gifted the palette to test out and I have to say, I was very impressed.
The mineral and amazonian clay infused shadows are warm and pigmented, but not so much so that they’re hard to manipulate. I actually prefer shadows that you have to build a little because I’m someone that does my makeup on the go, so I need to be able to apply it without fear that there’s going to be a lot of kickback and a mess everywhere when I’m done. This formula is buttery and just right. At first I thought the blush might be too light on me but it worked with my skin tone. If you’re someone with a tan or olive skin tone, these colors are going to be perfect for an every day polished look.
Tarte makes one of my favorite mascaras (their Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara which is perfect for those who have oily eyelids), so I was eager to try out the Maneater Mascara as well to see how much I liked it. The brush takes a moment to get used to, but the formula stays put and doesn’t flake so I’m currently using that now. The Liquid Eyeliner is pretty good too.
But back to the palette. I really like that it’s a range of transitional shades, so I can do a daytime look, but if I want to go more dramatic, I can just deepen the look with the Ferocious shade, and then pop on a pair of lashes.
It’s one that I can keep in my purse all year round because of this, so it’s worth it in my books. The less products I have to lug around, the better!
Have you tried any products from the Maneater Collection?
Products in this post were gifted, but all opinions where my own.
