If you ask me to choose between waffles or pancakes, I will almost always pick pancakes. I’ve always preferred them for breakfast, so I was happy when I finally made my way over to Staks Pancake Kitchen. Staks Pancakes Kitchen is a fast casual restaurant that specializes in made-to-order pancakes. They’ve been open since 2015, but somehow it took me forever to make my way there, but the wait was definitely worth it!
The day that I visited, I didn’t want traditional pancakes so I decided to get the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (topped with fresh blueberries and blueberry syrup), with a classic side of bacon, scrambled eggs and a biscuit. This flavor is perfect for those that don’t want a super sweet meal, but still want to indulge in pancakes. I also had an iced Honey Vanilla Latte that was so delicious that I’m STILL thinking about it weeks later. The pancakes are fluffy and flavorful, and their eggs were scrambled how I like them. I wish the bacon was just a tiiiiiiinch crispier, but other than that, I was really pleased with my meal and recommend it.
I didn’t get any pictures of the interior because I sat outside during our meal (sitting on a patio is my go-to right now if I decide to dine somewhere. It just feels safer since you’re outside), but it has such a cool vibe (totally instagrammable if you’re visiting and want to get a cute photo with your meal). If pancakes aren’t your thing, they have a pretty extensive breakfast and lunch menu for you to order from that included breakfast bowls, omelets, sandwiches, and more. Service was pretty fast as well (you order when you first arrive and then they bring your food out to you), so even if there is a wait, it’s usual no more than 20 minutes.
Staks Pancake Kitchen is open daily from 6:30am-2pm and have 2 locations (I went to the one at Poplar/Perkins). To see their full menu (there is so much to choose from and you can order something different each time), click here.
